Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was raised in an ethnically diverse family. Her mother and father are both English. She was raised in a council estate in the south of London. In the ages of 14she enrolled in The Brit School. She pursued acting studies in the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, London. At the academy and performing in numerous stage productions including the King Henry V as Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe first began her acting career with Storm Damage. She has appeared as an actor in Teachers Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Her debut film as a performer is the Woody Allen 2007 movie Cassandra's Dream. She starred with Colin Farrell & Ewan MacGregor. Following that success she was cast as Elisha in the one-off BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN, and appeared in the six episodes of Trexx as well as Flipside as Ollie. In the ITV2 show Secret Diary of a Call Girl was her first appearance in 2008 as Bambi. Madekwe was also a part of 2008's comedy How to Alienate and Lose Friends. She also appeared on the screen in Little Sweet Thing, by Roy Williams, and Flight Path, by David Watson.
Madekwe had her official US debut in the 2009 drama The Beautiful Life, which was only broadcast on The CW before being cancelled. Ashley Davenport was her role in the ABC drama Revenge. The departure of Madekwe from the show was officially announced in May of 2013. Following two seasons as a main character, she appeared as a guest in the opening episode of season three. In the television series Salem in 2014, she portrayed Tituba from 2014 until the year 2016. Madekwe was married to her long-time partner, Iddo. They worked together on Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Goldberg also appeared with Madekwe in Salem.
Ashley Leggat was born in Hamilton, Ontario, into the extended family of a huge, large. Her parents were Roy and Patty along with her older brothers, Rob, Brett, and twins Todd and Bram. The four brothers of Ashley, who were all extremely physically active, were all playing hockey in the winters and baseball in the summer months, which means they grew up mostly in baseball and arenas. Ashley was never able to walk, however she did dance. At the age of two, she took up Baby Ballet and fell in love. Ashley began to develop a love of dancing after she started Baby Ballet. Ashley was a professional dancer in all the major categories until the time she graduated from high school. The competitions she participated in included ballet, tap, jazz, pointe and acrobatics. Ashley took home the best soloist honor at each major dance competition, including International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance and many more, just to mention some.
