Julia Fiona Roberts was born in Atlanta on October 28 1967 in the home of Betty Lou Bredemus and Walter Grady Roberts. Roberts is from the fourth generation of Roberts family who lived in Atlanta. It started with her grandfather John Pendleton Roberts who was a farm. Her father was keen interest from a young age in the theater. While he was a students studying at Emory University from 1952 to 1954, he participated in numerous productions. He joined the Air Force and while stationed in Biloxi in Mississippi, he appeared in a play with Betty Lou Bredemus. In 1955, they got married and their son Eric Anthony was born. In 1957, the couple quit the Air Force and Walter was enrolled in Tulane University in New Orleans Louisiana. Walter was employed by Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio. The family moved in 1960 and relocated to Decatur Georgia. Walter along with Betty Lou started production in 1964 for the local children's Saturday morning show on television called Bum Bum and His Buddies and their Buddies, which they both funded. Later that year they founded The Actors and Writers Workshop which ran for a period of six years. Lelisa Billingsley often referred to as Lisa was born in 1965. Julia Billingsley followed in 1967.
