In the year 2015, at age 19, she published her first debut single, Here. It became a huge hit immediately with both critics as well as fans praised it. The Canadian Hot 100, and Billboard Hot 100, ranked the single at 19. Even Rolling Stone listed the smash as one the the Top Songs of 2015. In the same year, she released her first album Know It All, the song Scars to Your Beautiful ranked on the Billboard Hot 100 and Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200. The track was also one of the original five songs. The track is special due to her interview with Rap-Up that she conducted, many of her listeners were able to relate to her experience in finding love for themselves, and rethinking their beliefs about her. Cara is known for including messages on mental health, kindness and self-love into her songs. Everything stems from her personal experiences as she been battling mental health issues and insomnia. Reuters said that she described her album "half chaotic, but half done". Therapy made her stronger and she encourages others to do the same. Alessia Cara has been a Canadian artist since 1996. Her parents come from Italian heritage. Her parents gave her a guitar when she was 10, and it led to her passion for music. She began to cover her favorite songs when she was thirteen to show that world that she had the skills and the courage necessary to be a singer. One of the songs Sweater Weather got her noticed by a label known as EP Entertainment which allowed her to create and write tracks.
